BOOK US

Wanna book DCD? Well, alright. But first we're gonna have to lay down some ground rules.

Clubs:
Typically, we like to play with 2 or 3 other bands who are similar to us, so as not to alienate the crowd too much. We are more than willing to find/contact the other bands for the night, decide the order of the bands, design the flyers, and do most of the online promotion.

If you're close by, we will drop off a flyer for you to make copies and do what you want with them. Otherwise (i.e., if you're a great distance away), we'll simply email you an image file of the flyer (.JPG format), and you can print it out yourself.

Promoters:
If you are taking a cut for being the promoter, we expect you to do all of the promotion. This is just common sense. The more work we have to do in the weeks or months leading up to the show, the less we expect you to take, money-wise, from the door. This doesn't mean that we aren't going to do anything at all in the way of online promotion and distributing flyers, but you are expected to do the brunt of it, seeing as that's your job.

Also (and this is important), WE DO NOT SELL TICKETS - unless it's for a benefit show. Don't even ask.

Other Bands:
Just give us as much info as you can about the show, and provide contact info for whoever is putting it all together (if it isn't you).

"Battle of the Bands" events:
Don't ask us to do these. They do nothing but harm to the local music community and incite competition between bands who should be working together. The only exception would be if it's also a benefit show.

Guarantees/Payment:
Please let us know ahead of time the way in which you plan to pay us. Gas costs money, and we typically have to take time off from our jobs in order to do this.

Bars and 21-and-over clubs: We can either split the money 50/50 with the venue (in which case we will divide our share evenly with the other bands, and you, as the club owner and/or promoter, are expected to pay your sound technician), or we can take the role of promoter and run the show ourselves, while you make your money from the bar.

If we're promoting the show ourselves, we typically like to have our own people at the door collecting the money. This avoids any confusion when it comes time to pay all of the bands and the sound technician.

PLEASE LET US KNOW if you do not have your own sound tech/PA system. We will have to make arrangements to bring our own.

If neither of these options works for you, we ask for a guarantee of $250. This figure is subject to change depending on the driving distance from home to the venue and back.

DIY Spaces/All-Ages Shows:
Contact us with the info. We're very interested, and a lot of the rules listed above may not apply to you.

Sound alright? Good! Send us an email at DCDnewcastleOi@gmail.com.
